What's Behind Our Name

We are a family-owned business. Immigrant ancestors, comprised of the Bumby and Brook families, sold their successful textile mill and other properties in Yorkshire, England, sailed to America, crossed the Great Plains and homesteaded the pristine, but primitive, Madison River Valley of Montana in the 1870s. Theirs was a business venture on which they staked their fortunes and their very lives. The fact that we and other descendants are still here means their investment continues to pay dividends into the 21st century. We remember them, honor their pioneering entrepreneurial spirit and proudly keep their names alive.
